Backpacks are often used in our lives. All backpacks wear out after prolonged use. Zippers are usually the main pressure point of backpacks and are prone to wear and tear, so extra care should be taken to extend their service life. The longer the zipper remains functional, the longer the backpack can be used.

Here are a few tips to help you better protect your backpack zip and extend its life.

Don`t Overload Your Backpack

The extra weight puts more pressure on the zipper. When the backpack is overcrowded, you must pull the zipper hard, which makes the zipper easy to break and damage.Tip: Paraffin as a lubricant can make your zipper slide smoothly all the time.

Don't force the zipper

Never force material through a zipper if it somehow got caught in the teeth. This makes things worse. Just gently pull the zipper away from the snag, and try to push or pull the material to make it loose.

If the method above fails, apply a little bit of vinegar onto the snag with an old toothbrush.

Keep the Zippers Clean

Use soap and water to clean the zippers (or use the manufacturer`s recommendation, if there`s any provided).

Remove grime and dirt stuck on the zipper`s teeth as they can cause major snags.

Salt is extremely corrosive, especially for metal zippers. If your backpack has been exposed to salt water, rinse it thoroughly and dry it as soon as possible.

Not just backpack zippers, any kind, such as Invisible Nylon Zipper, Rhinestone Zipper, Large Plastic Zipper, Watertight Zipper, Long Chain Zipper, etc., all need our care to extend the life of the zipper.
