We will see Waterproof Zipper, Long Chain Brass Zipper, Invisible Zipper, Plastic Zipper and many other zippers on our clothes. Sometimes we encounter situations where the zipper does not work properly. Maybe we can fix it ourselves.

The down jacket is filled with soft feathers of goose or duck, and the outer layer is made of nylon or polyester material. Although expensive, it is very popular in winter because it is thin and warm.

The zipper is an indispensable connecting piece on the down jacket. Sometimes when we use it, we will encounter some small faults, such as the zipper is set on the front of the down jacket. If you have a lot of trouble closing or opening the zippers, and these zippers accidentally get stuck on or under, and don't slide easily on important occasions, it will be awkward. It may take a lot of time and money if you turn to the tailors who are always busy for help. In addition, if the replacement new zipper is different from the original zipper, it may bring an uncomfortable feeling. In this post, we will share a simple household remedy for fixing a stuck zipper on a down jacket with a little effort to get it going again,.This method may help you save time and money

Tools:A bar of soap and a pair of pliers

Step :

1. Prepare a bar of soap and a pair of pliers. These household items can be easily found in every family.

2. Get rid of any particles or thread caught in the slider or sliding path.

3. Grab the pair of pliers and try to close the slider that may have come apart together until it catches and clinches the teeth. Take care not to apply too much load to the slider, and keep both sides of the slider parallel.

4. Close the zipper and apply the bar soap prepared. Rub the stuck teeth with the bar soap to smooth them out and make them slide more easily. A pencil lead (graphite) also works if you have run out of soap. However, we suggest using the soap as it won`t be easy to wipe off the stain introduced by the graphite.

5. Pull the slider back and forth until the bar soap applied has slipped the zipper out of its jam.

The zipper should work just like it is supposed to if you have followed the above steps. Repeat the steps until it works. However, this method won`t be applicable if your zipper or slider has been damaged. In this case, you have to install a new jacket zipper.
