Eco-friendly zippers is the trend in the future

On November 5th, the Fujian Metal Zipper,Plastic Zipper,Nylon Zipper Industry Association held the fourth session of the second member conference. The author learned from the meeting that in the first half of this year, the garments zipper industry experienced explosive growth in production and sales, and the garments acessories industry showed signs of recovery. However, as domestic environmental protection requirements are getting higher and higher, and new environmental protection directives in foreign markets are frequent, in the second half of the year and in the coming years, environmental protection eco friendly zippers will become a trend.

During the financial crisis, the zipper industry in Fujian warmed up and collectively fought for orders to better spend the toughest period. Since the fourth quarter of 2009, the zipper industry has gradually recovered. According to the statistics of the zipper branch of the China Hardware Products Association, the sales of zipper products in the country reached 34 billion yuan in 2009, an increase of 6% over the previous year. Among them, the Fujian region has completed sales of about 4.8 billion yuan, accounting for 12% of the country's total sales. “Since this year, the signs of recovery in the zipper industry have become even more obvious. The demand for apparel bags has been growing rigidly. Most companies are in a state of oversupplied supply, and some companies even have a 100% increase in performance compared to the same period last year.”  

However, as the industry recovers, companies face more and more challenges. “In the second half of the year and in the coming years, as the downstream industry scale and market demand continue to expand, the number of branded companies and foreign companies in our customer base will increase, which has a higher demand for zipper quality and service. A number of new environmental directives have been issued to require our products to meet higher standards in environmental protection, ecology and safety, said Shi Nenghui.

In this regard, Xu Shuhu, president of the Fujian Zipper Industry Association, suggested that in the future, the zipper industry should vigorously develop the “low-pollution, low-energy, low-carbon” environmental protection zipper. “We should begin with environmental protection changes in fibers, fuels, auxiliaries, and electroplating, painting, etc. We must also start from the cleanliness of production workshops and hygiene and low temperatures to produce environmentally friendly zippers that meet international standards.”
